We're also excited to introduce two special sails this season, a Father's Day Sail and a 4th of July Sail. Plan ahead and get tickets now for our new sails and special events!

DAILY SAILS

The Mimosa Sail: Is there anything better than our popular post-breakfast 11 a.m. sail? Of course there is! Our popular post-breakfast 11 a.m. sail... with endless, complementary mimosas!

Classic Afternoon Sails: Our 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. sails are back! As always, beer, wine, soda and water are all just a $1.

Dark and Stormy Schooner Sail: No, we don't mean the weather! Join us for a 5 p.m. sail that fits right into that nook of time when you just wants to relax, but you don't want to waste the day's last hours of sunshine. While you're at it, try a Dark and Stormy, the national drink of Bermuda! The delicious concoction of dark rum and beer will leave you wanting more... so treat yourself, our Dark and Stormy drinks are complimentary! Also complimentary are our shrimp cocktails, the perfect appetizer for this pre-dinner sail.

Sunset Sail: Adirondack II veterans know this sail well. Our 7 p.m. sunset sail catches Newport at its most elegant and romantic!

SPECIAL SAILS

Father's Day Sail: Fathers sail free on the 1 p.m. sail June 21st! Take dad out for a sail and a picnic lunch of sandwiches, fruit and cookies to celebrate!

Plan a Summer Wedding on the Adirondack II!

Are you looking for an intimate, romantic and private setting for your wedding ceremony? Newport in the summertime is one of the most elegant and beautiful places for a big day, and no venue is more private than your own private sail on our classic schooner, the Adirondack II!

We've tailored the perfect wedding for many couples who have tied the knot on a crisp morning sail or a lovely sunset sail with up to 60 guests, and our crew will happily work with your florist or wedding planner! There are plenty of fantastic Newport wedding services and experts in the area that can help make your wedding day special.

There are also many other ways to incorporate a sail into your wedding events. In addition to the actual wedding ceremony, we've hosted:

-Dinner the night before the wedding (we can cater any meal buffet-style!)
-Brunch the day after the wedding
-Bachelor and bachelorette parties
-Cocktail hour before the reception

Couples have also sailed on the Adirondack II to nearby Rose Island and docked in front of its majestic lighthouse to exchange vows. Many couples bring their own justice of the peace, but others prefer to be married by our Captain, who is fully certified to perform the ceremony.

For receptions, we recommend the Newport Yachting Center, which offers gorgeous spaces that overlook the water. We also love the nearby restaurants 22 Bowen and and The Landing, both of which host receptions. E-mail us at info@sail-newport.com to make sailing part of your wedding party!

Three Mansion Open all Winter Long!

Newport's biggest attraction (aside from the Adirondack II, of course!) is its famous historic landmark mansions, including The Breakers, Marble House and The Elms. And for the first time, all three of these mansions can be toured during the winter months!

The cost of building The Elms would raise eyebrows even if it were built today. It was built by Edward Julius Berwind for $1.4 million... in 1901! One of the most breathtaking aspects of The Elms are its lavish gardens, which fell into disrepair in the 1960s, but were recently restored.

Marble House was supposedly built as a cottage for William Vanderbilt and his wife between 1888 and 1892, but there's nothing "cottage-y" about it. The mansion features 500,000 cubic feet of marble and was the site of many upper class social gatherings at the turn of the 19th Century.

The Breakers was commissioned by Cornelius Vanderbilt II in 1893, and is a 70-room mansion inspired by the 16th century palaces of Genoa and Turin. Vanderbilt II was instrumental in overseeing New York railway transportation systems, and lived in The Breakers with his wife and seven children.

In addition to the new winter tours, there will also be a special tour of The Breakers grounds on March 26. Tickets are available for The Breakers garden tour now!

Where's the Adirondack II Now?

Perhaps we could all take a lesson from our schooner, the Adirondack II, which has been spending the winter in sunny Key West!

We know not everyone can pick up and follow the schooner to Florida for the whole season, but now is the best time to pop down for a week or weekend of sailing, nightlife and relaxation. (When the month of March starts with a record-breaking snowstorm in the Northeast, you know it's time for a vacation.)

With the Adirondack II being gone until mid May, we'd like to spend our Newport sailing time helping you plan your visit to Key West!

The Schedule
The Adirondack II goes out three times daily in Key West, for a morning, afternoon and evening trip, so virtually any week or weekend is a good time to visit for some sailing. On March 29, the Adirondack II will participate in its third monthly Wrecker's Cup Race, and tickets are on sale now to be on board during the seven mile race to a reef called Sand Key. This month, the Adirondack II will try to defend its championship after winning the first two races of the year!

New in Key West

-To coincide with the opening of its new pond, the Key West Botanical Gardens will host wine and music nights in March and April.
-The popular musical Reefer Madness will be in a much-demanded reprise in the next few months at the Waterfront Playhouse.
-A new terminal has been added to Key West International Airport! Now that traveling won't be nearly as much of a hassle, it's hard to find a reason not to visit the Adirondack II in her temporary home.

There are plenty of other attractions in Key West, so plan a quick escape while it's still snowing!
